Prior

It was a cloudy day in Arizona today, but the sun was shining in the distance. Mark Prior is making his first start after his minor league stint. In the first inning, things did not look good for Prior. He got the first two batters out and then gave up three more singles leading to a run scored. Then the next play, which might have been the biggest play in the Spring occurred … Khalil Greene hit a single to Matt Murton and Murton gunned down Josh Bard at home plate. If he did not get that runner out there still would have been two men on base and Prior might have started to doubt himself. Instead, it was a huge confidence boost for Prior and he pitched the next three innings very well. He was locating his pitches and he topped out at 93.  Prior ended up with a line of 4 innings pitched, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts and a 1 earned run.
