There’s a new sheriff in Wrigleyville
Posted on April 5th, 2007 by Joe
After walking a batter in the ninth inning, Dempster threw a ball to Ken Griffey Jr. At this time, new manager Lou Piniella came steaming out of the dugout and started yelling at him. We will never know what exactly was said, because none of the major magazines can say what Lou said to him. Whatever Lou said worked. The next pitch Griffey popped up and then Dempster got the next batter out as well. Cubs win. If this was a scenario last year, Dempster would have been out there as Dusty munched on his toothpicks. This is a new year Cubs fans! I have a feeling this is going to be a good year.

I thought the sherrif was shot?
From what I read Lou was saying just throw strikes… it’s cold and we want to get out of here. I’m sure it wasn’t in those exact words though.
