If I were Lou I would have sent down Cedeno and not Patterson, because Patterson is playing alot better offensively, but that does not change the fact that they are both still doing poorly in the field

Where will Samardzija start out this season? A or AA? He seemed to have a decent grasp of his stuff in his few spring outings. What do you think?
I think he will start out in A ball and have him work his way up from there. I think the highest that he will start out is AA ball, but from the way he pitched this Spring he will be pitching for the AAA squad in no time. I was listening to Rick Sutcliffe during the Cubs game today and he mentioned that he wouldn’t be surprised to see him pitching in September of this year. That was encouraging to hear, especially from someone of Sutcliffe’s stature. Samardzija is receiving almost as much hype as Prior was when he was drafted by the Cubs.
