Felix Pie was called up today and this has to be his time to shine.  He has the confidence and he is sick of being sent down to AAA, when he knows that he can perform in the big league level. “I’m not going to go back down again. You’re going to see me here for a long time”.  That shows to me and to Cubs fans everywhere that he knows he has the potential and he is ready to meet and greet that potential.  In 55 games in AAA Iowa he hit .362 with 5 triples, 9 homeruns, 9 doubles, 43 RBI’s and 51 runs.  Now it would be nice to see those numbers transfer to the big leagues where he can help this team on an every day basis. Also something that is not in the box score is his excellent defense.  He has blazing speed so he should be able to make some excellent catches in the outfield, not to mention the cannon that he has attatched to his arm.  This is a 5-tool player and he is only 22 years old.

In order to make room for Pie being called up, Angel Pagan was placed on the 15 day disabled List. Angel did an excellent job this season for the Cubs and he played very solid ball. It is a shame that he is injured again, but it will be nice to have him come back for the stretch run.
