The contract negotiations between Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs have been put on hold due to the Chicago Tribune being sold. This is not good news for Cubs fans. Hendry and Zambrano’s agent, Barry Praver, were very close to finishing off a 5-year deal that would lock up Carlos for a long time.

Sam Zell will buy the Tribune for 8.2 billion dollars and then will sell the team at the end of the season … The bids will likely start at 500 million dollars. If you are interested in buying the team make sure to get your checkbooks out.

Aaron Harang is a very underrated pitcher. He led the NL with 16 wins and 216 strikeouts. Harang has a fastball that ranges from 88-93 MPH. He has a late-breaking slider and a straight change and sometimes will break out the curveball.

Carlos Zambrano originally set a deadline for opening day as contract extensions. He has now gotten rid of that deadline date, so they can work out a few more kinks in the contract. This sounds like they are very close to reaching an agreement and that Big Z wants to stay.
