Missing my regular season and I have to endure 5 months of winter waiting for the next spring training and the hopes of the beloved Cubs playing again. After the 2010 season ended, I was never more disappointed in this years edition of the Chicago Cubs. There were a few bright spots for the Cubs, but not many. Rookies Starlin Castro and Tyler Colvin gave the team reasons to believe in the future. The bullpen was a guessing game of “who is this guy”. Ryan Dempster and Marlon Byrd were the only Cubs there played solidly all season. Another bright side to the Cubs season was off field with the induction of former Cubs OF, Andre Dawson into the Hall of Fame. Now with the Cubs off season, there are so many questions and no answers. Who the Cubs should sign. Who they should let go. Who the Cubs should trade for. Cub nation is gonna have to go through another frustrating year of rebuilding. Sometimes I wonder how much more I can take. LOL
Well Cubs fans it is finally official. The Chicago Cubs 2010 season is now over. With a season record of 75 Wins & 87 losses the Chicago Cubs obviously did not make it to post season play. It will be a long break before the Cubs get back together for spring training and I really hope to see the new Cubs ownership make some serious changes in the off season. For many years Cubs fans have had to deal with an extraordinary amount of limitations due to the parent “company” that previously owned it. If the Ricketts are sports fans and want Championships let’s see what they do for Cubs organization in the off season. I sincerely hope Mike Quade will be named manager of the Cubs in 2011 so he can continue his work that he started late this season. Thats all for now Cubs Nation.
It’s that time of year that the Cubs regular season is ending and there will be no post season play for them. So what do I do when there are no Cubs games to watch? In the past I usually just took a winter break from the Cubs but not this year. I’m going to see what the new owners have in plan for next season ! I want to see if the Cubs will rebuild the right way. I will follow trade rumors, acquisitions and minor league graduations. I know you all feel me when I say I would like to see the Chicago Cubs #1 make post season #2 do well in the post season & #3 at least make it to a World Series. The Cubs are due for it and now that they aren’t owned by a corporation, can it be our time? Be sure to check in frequently in the off season Cubs fans to get the news about what’s going on. That’s all for now Cubs Nation.
Just finished watching tonights game between the Cubs and Padres and to see Big Z pitch seven stellar innings in the 1-0 victory over the Friars. Since his return from personal issues, he has been completely unbelievable. Nice to see the Big Z of old. Hoping he can carry his recent success into next season.
MIKEY’S NOTE:
I whole heartedly agree big brother. Carlos Zambrano seems to be getting back on track to being an all-star again. The once highly respected and loved Cubs pitcher seemed to take a hiatus from pitching awesome games and became the grumpy bear ( or Cub lol ). His on field antics and super hot temper made bad press for the Cubs and sure as heck didn’t help us win any games. I wish I could’ve have been in the Cubs dugout to hear the argument between Big Z and former Chicago Cub Derek Lee. Rumor mill has it that Lee is a bit of a gentle giant so I can ‘t imagine what would have provoked him to get loud. Zambrano’s performance at the mound these days cannot be denied. Maybe someone reminded him how large his contract with the Cubs really is and that no other team would want him if he was too much of a troublemaker. Who knows if Cubs management even threatened they wouldn’t renew it. All in all though his turn around and devotion to winning has been great to watch. That’s all for now Cubs Nation.

Back from the game with my brother and spent more time laughing and yelling at the players than analyzing the game. Seemed like every time I left my seat, I missed something good. Oh by the way, the Cubs won 2-0 over the Giants.

Writing this post from my phone so sorry for any grammar mistakes. Me and Frankie are on our way to Wrigley field to see our beloved Cubs take on the giants ! Thanks to Donnie for hooking us up with the tickets. I’ll do my best to post live Cubs nation. GO CUBS !
Get a call from my brother to tell me he has tickets to tonights Cubs game. This will be the 4th game I have gone to this season. When he asked me if I wanted to go, I gave him a “hell yea, I am not gonna turn down a free baseball game”. LOL I will be able to be there in person to give my own analysis of the ballgame tonight.
